To create a learning environment, classes are held in
a variety of locations. For example: A church, a primary school, and a grassy field.

Julie and guests share information about nature.
For example: Samples of various things that grow in the forest and outside the forest that the mountain gorillas like to eat.

Eric and guests share information about gorillas.
For example: Eric teaches a lesson about how to draw
the shape of a gorilla by asking students what are their similarities with humans. He showed them photographs and asked them to carefully examine the gorilla's hands, feet, eyes, how gorillas look at rest, at play, and while grooming.

The AoC team share information about health.
For example: Odile NYIRAGUHIRWA, a spokesperson from Club SIDA, discusses HIV-AIDS awareness, family planning and personal hygiene. SIDA is an acronym for the disease
AIDS in various languages, including French (Syndrome
d'Immuno Deficience Acquise).

The subject of much of the artwork is about the
interconnectedness of life. For example: Topics include destruction and protection of the environment and human ways of expressing joy, hunger, sadness, and communication.

AoC lessons are designed to encourage students to think about how people relate to each other and animals.

Instructors, class translators (both Rwandan), director, and visiting artists serve as role models, in addition to those guests invited to class.
